Apple and Samsung smartphones have been wooing smartphone lovers for almost a decade. In the course of this healthy competition between these two arch rivals, both these brands have tried its best to exceed the other in terms of the technology that has been integrated in their latest range of gadgets. Therefore, every year we get see astounding features added to their flagship phone that not only the end users awestruck, but at the same help in making our life much less complicated and easy.
The predecessors of the aforesaid flagship smartphones i.e. iPhone 6 was released last year (2014) and Galaxy S6 was released about a month back. Two ardent competitors that are going to battle it out among themselves in the near future are iPhone 7 and Samsung Galaxy S7. These two flagship smartphones are not officially announced by the makers, but following the trend that Apple and Samsung follows every year, we are expecting them to arrive before us with cool features sometimes in the next year. Therefore, techies like us have already started comparing the features (based on speculation) of these two flagship smartphones so as to understand which of these two have a better chance to survive this chase.
Here is a comparison made between the features of these two smartphones which is totally based on the speculations made by tech geeks like us.
As far as the release date of iPhone 7 is concerned, chance of it releasing in the last quarter of this year is quite high. If we follow trend we will notice that every year Apple releases its flagship smartphone in the second half of the year. Therefore, iPhone 7 the natural heir of iPhone 6 is likely to arrive this year itself. However, rumors regarding the release of iPhone 6s this year are also quite strong. If iPhone 6s the upgraded model of iPhone 6 is released this year, then chance of iPhone 7 being introduced next year would be quite high. However, authority like Ming Chi Kuo of KGI Security predicts that iPhone 6s might be ditched in favor of the release of iPhone 7.
Since Samsung Galaxy S6 was released just a couple of weeks back, we are pretty sure that we are not going to get the first glimpse of Galaxy S7 till next year. Galaxy S7 is likely to make its first appearance in the MWC 2015. However, one thing that we cannot afford to ignore here is S7 and iPhone 7 being the two archrivals, Samsung might align S7’s release date in accordance with the release of iPhone 7. However, we think that S7 is not going to be unveiled this year, just in case iPhone 7 does so in last quarter of 2015.
Techies are quite sure that iPhone 7 will be powered by the next generation superfast A9 chip. The processor is expected to be supported by 2 GB RAM and have 64 GB internal storage capacity.
Galaxy S7 is expected to be powered by a 64 bit Exynos processor and come with either 4 GB or 6 GB RAM support. This smartphone is expected to come with different storage capacity ranging from 32 GB to 64 GB and 128 GB.

We are expecting Apple to unveil the next generation mobile platform in the WWDC 2015 in the month of June. Since iPhone 7 will be released after the introduction of the latest iOS, therefore we are absolutely sure that the gadget will be powered by the gen next iOS 9.
Galaxy S7 being the flagship smartphone of the year 2015, will be certainly powered by the latest Android platform. However, it is difficult to predict whether it will be present Android platform i.e. Android Lollipop or the rumored Android 6.0 Milkshake or Marshmallow platform. Well, a lot depends on the time the next generation platform will be introduced. If the next edition of the Android platform is released before the coming of Galaxy S7, then it is going to powered by Android 6.0.
Recently Apple has filed a patent of a flexible display. This development has led techies to assume that iPhone 7 is going to come with a flexible display. This display will be very different from the curved display of the LG Flex or Galaxy S6 Edge. It will be flexible in the true sense of the term and users can actually bend the phone when needed.
Interestingly enough, Samsung next generation smartphone Galaxy S7 is also expected to come with a flexible display. Samsung has been working on this technology from a long time and let us keep our finger crossed and hope we get to see it this year. If this rumor turns out to be true, then we are sure that the competition between the two rival companies will be fierce.
iPhone 7’s camera specifications have become the talk of the cyber space for quite sometime. Techies are expecting a lot from the iPhone 7’s camera, so much so that they are expecting it to be integrated with features of DSLR camera. The reporters of ValueWalk have assumed that iPhone 7 may come with a “periscope camera” with “wobbling mirrors and multiple zooming lens elements.” There are also reports of Apple procuring 21 MP CMOS sensors from Sony for iPhone 7.
Nothing much is yet known about Galaxy S7’s camera specification excepting the fact that it is going to come with 30 MP primary and 10 MP secondary camera.
iPhone 7 is expected to come with a much stronger and scratch proof display made of sapphire. There are also chances of it coming with side wall display as we have seen in Galaxy S6 Edge.
Galaxy S7 is expected to have a 5.5 inch screen fitted in AMOLED panel. The screen is expected to come with 4K screen resolution and there are reports that Samsung developers are trying to use IGZO technology.
Some of the features that we are expecting to see in iPhone 7 are presence of Sense button replacing the Home button. But we are not really sure about the additional features that the Sense button is going to have. Apart from that we are also expecting it to come with wireless charging option, force touch and waterproofing abilities.
Rumor has it that Samsung is working on ‘Iris on the Move’ technology that is going to make the Samsung’s smartphone much more secure and personal. This technology is expected to be introduced in the ISC West 2015, and it will make the fingerprint censor recognition feature of Apple obsolete. If Samsung successfully develops this feature, then we are expecting it to be a part of Galaxy S7.
It is very difficult to speculate the price of these two products. However, we have some some wild guesses in this respect. iPhone 7 we are expecting to come with a price tag of about 700$ and Galaxy S7 with a tag of $850.
